Robin is proud to have been made an adjudicator of the ISM-SMA International Guild of Adjudicators, Festivals and Workshop Presenters for the ISM-SMA - providing the highest quality workshops and adjudication to choirs, singers and instrumentalists nationally and internationally.

Robin is one of 19 Royal College of Organists Academy teachers and he also teaches jazz and classical piano, pop, classical jazz and musical theatre vocals to the highest levels.  He has had many theory, composition, private GCSE and A Level pupils and has coached lead vocalists and choruses in theatre productions such as We Will Rock You at Sunderland Empire.

Robin has been appointed to the Education Committee of the BKA (British Kodaly Association), providing a systematic approach to music education that enhances how people hear music in their heads and thus the level of musicianship in their performances.  The Kodaly methodology is very specific and has led to worldwide connected institutions.

Robin is involved in directing 7 different choirs per week from the latest pop (Titanium) to musical theatre (Let it Go) to gospel inspired (Gospel Shock), to church choral (eg Brother James' Air) to traditional choral society (such as St Matthew's Passion).  All of his various choirs perform in significant public events regularly.

Robin's pedagogical methods are analytical and derive from the Kodaly inner-ear method.  He is an expert in teaching harmony vocals, improvisation (vocals, piano and organ) and technique (singing, piano and organ).  His pupils have gained high successes not just regionally, but nationally.

Jess writes:

Robin was my high school teacher. I have never had such a compassionate teacher who would do anything to see his students succeed. He even stayed behind in his own time every day to help me and my development. I went on to receive A*s in practical and theory. Although the most important part of my learning was Robin's excellent coaching skills which took me from a mediocre singer to coming second in a national singing competition with 12,000 contestants at the age of 18. I would not hesitate having any tuition from Robin, my only regret is that I now live too far away from him to carry on!
