Robin is very experienced in giving choral masterclasses and workshops to a range of choirs.  He has recently been accepted by Dr Douglas Coombes MBE (internationally respected including chairing adjudication for Barnardos Choir of the Year and for the BBC) and a panel of adjudicators, including the ISM, as a member of the SMA-ISM International Guild of Adjudicators, Festivals and Workshop Presenters.  He has worked with school choirs that have reached Sainsbury's Choir of the Year finals, coached choruses in theatres such as We Will Rock You, led numerous church choirs, directed Choral Society rehearsals (in works such as Vivaldi's Gloria, St Matthew's Passion and so forth) and coached band vocalists in developing their technique, harmony and range as well as their ability to perform successive nights without gaining a sore throat.

Robin's choir direction does not involve purely singing through and correcting songs.  Rather, there are frequent harmony games and activities as well as coaching in tone, projection, improvisation, blend of tone, variety of dynamics and tone, varied onsets and releases appropriate to repertoire and so forth.

He directs two main choirs in the area that always welcome new members and who are available for bookings.  Recordings and videos can be emailed upon request (

Gospel Shock is a female chamber group who's repertoire and style of singing is gospel inspired. They sing numbers similar to London Community Gospel Choir but mix these with rock classics and contemporary pop songs ranging from Lean on Me and Ain't no Mountain High Enough to Wonder (Emeli Sande) and Fields of Gold (Eva Cassidy/Sting).  They are of a very high standard and their harmonies have a delightful flavour of their own. They sing for weddings, charity events and large public events.  They had the wonderful opportunity of opening the Cornshed Festival in 2013.  Their rates for events are very affordable.

Bobby Dazzler's Academy

Robin started a choir at the Bobby Dazzler's Academy Easter 2014 and by the Summer they had already sung at Yarm Gala, Stockton International Riverside Festival, for a private wedding booking in a church, for a care home and became booked by a charity for the Great North Run.  They range in age from 7-19 and have a diverse repertoire all in 2-3 part harmony as well as with soloists.  As an example, they have recently sung Titanium (3 part harmony with soloists), I Can See Clearly Now (3 part harmony), You Raise Me Up (2 part harmony) and Let it Go (2 part harmony), amongst other repertoire.  Rates for events are very affordable and we are keen to expand our experience as much as possible.

"Joining the choir was one of the best decisions i have ever made. The choir has gave me so many opportunities to perform at public appearances and has also helped me gain so much more confidence. Without Robin i would have never of found my own voice, or achieved as many things as i have in such a short time. I love the choir."  Erin

Daniel of wrote of our performers at the Great North Run:

"Yesterday was a huge success for us and it was a privilege to work with you and the choir. We were so impressed with the choir and their energy throughout the whole day. Once again thank you for supporting us, Martin and I had a brilliant day and the choir was perfect."

Regarding a wedding this summer, Glo Clark wrote "I so enjoyed hearing your choir on Saturday - I love that song."

A bride wrote: "The music and choir sounded wonderful, thank you for organising it all."

A charity event, November 2014: "Thank you so much Robin for your amazing music last night. I have had so many messages today all of which mention yourself and the choir. Photos and blurb are on its way to press and the magazines. It was a truly amazing night and on the last count it was over £8000 mark. Still counting!!! So grateful and I hope from our event you get the recognition you deserve x"
